The conservative resurgence was a rise in conservative power. The conservatives favored relying on national defense and actively fighting against communism. Social Security reform, increase in defense spending, and tax cuts were some domestic policies. Strategic defense initiative, aid to anticommunist forces, and arms control were some foreign policies.
What political, social, technological, and economic trends have shaped American life since 1990?
Globalization brought consumers more choices and opportunities, but caused a loss in American jobs. Computers, satellites, and advances in agriculture technology raised productivity and efficiency, but challenged many workers and industries. Terrorism made the US government work to make America more safe.
